Recruited as Research Professor at OJeong Resilience Institute [OJERI], Korea University, Seoul.

Starting from March 2022, I will be working as Research Professor in the Marine Environment Research Lab (고려대학교 해양환경연구실) under Professor Tae-Wook Kim at OJEong Resilience Institute [OJERI], Korea University, Seoul, South Korea.

Established in 2014, the OJEong Resilience Institute (OJERI) is the center of the Asia resilience research network. OJERI aims to improve ecological resilience for addressing social-ecological changes that threaten the quality of life for humanity, and to contribute to a sustainable society.

OJERI is going to be Asia’s international hub for the ecological resilience research in the next decade.

OJERI’s scientific mission is to promote, facilitate, and conduct research to understand a changing Earth and its relationships with humankind and to develop strategies for a sustainable future and confront natural and anthropogenic changes of huge proportions caused by global warming and human activities that ultimately threaten the quality of life in the future. For the sake of achieving this purpose, OJERI pursues transdisciplinary research on resilience and social-ecological system in the main overarching research fields:

Climate Change Resilience

Ecosystem Sustainability

Sustainable Waste Management

Water Resilience

OJERI cooperates with a ‘Institute of Environment and Ecology’, a ‘Environmental GIS/RS Center’, a ‘Wild Resource Plant Seed Bank’ and a ‘Korea Biochar Research Center’ to develop new theories and techniques for estimating quantitatively ecological resilience and analyzing impact of the human activities to the ecological resilience. Through this research network, OJERI will become a top-level research institute in the field of sustainability.
